SYNOPSIS:
Paris, July 1942: Sarah, a ten year-old girl, is brutally arrested with her family by the French police in the Vel’ d’Hiv’ roundup, but not before she locks her younger brother in a cupboard in the family's apartment, thinking that she will be back within a few hours.
Paris, May 2002: On Vel’ d’Hiv’s 60th anniversary, journalist Julia Jarmond is asked to write an article about this black day in France's past. Through her contemporary investigation, she stumbles onto a trail of long-hidden family secrets that connect her to Sarah. Julia finds herself compelled to retrace the girl's ordeal, from that terrible term in the Vel d'Hiv', to the camps, and beyond. As she probes into Sarah's past, she begins to question her own place in France, and to reevaluate her marriage and her life.

WHAT I THOUGHT: Great book, I could not put it down and wanted to see how the story turned out. The maine character Julia was quite a character to follow thorugh on her mission to find out what had happened to Sarah. Granted the title caught my attention while browsing about at the bookstore! This is quite a powerful book I think to read. The author really does well with this book.

Synopsis:
A true American princess, Cecily WHite stood to inherit her father's business empire. And with the twentieth century right around the corner, the independent beauty had no intention of marrying some foreign nobleman seeking her money. Then on a trip to England, Cece fell under the spell for a dashing peer who had more to recommend him than the length of his title and the size of his countinghouse. But Cece wouldn't surrender her heart to the virile Earl of Graystone until he proved that the only treasure he wanted was her love.

What I thought: I thought the book was interesting but it seemed to drag on for me. I loved how Cece had her own agenda and manages to get through a variety of tasks with a cool head about her. So this book was fair for me.

Wednesday

Watching Sesame Street....and doing laundry so far. Hopefully will hit the grocery store soon. There are tons of books that I want to read but I soooo need to finish my stack of books I have. Must resist going to the book store to get more books..maybe I should hit up the library instead for a bit after I finish my stack of books? Other than books I so need to play catch up on my scrapbooking which is scary. So many things to do and little time to do it!

I want to read this:

As I mentioned before a classmate of mine wants me to make her bracelet so I'm working on that, after two tries, I need to make the string longer to get it accomplished! Grrr. It's also a way to learn too! Hopefully Thursday night or Saturday I can go to a bead learning class - have to see what hubby's schedule is like for work. Wheee. Someone mentioned of selling my bead work online somewhere..perhaps Etsy store?

Yesterday was a busy day - recap of Tuesday:
Went to mommy group - Kiddo played by himself here and there
Did two errands yesterday after mommy group
Had eggrolls for lunch! (yummy)
Played more at home with the kiddo
Kiddo napped for a short bit
Then had to wake him up
Hubby cooked dinner
Played with the boy more, watched Dancing with the Stars
Hubby went to Mac User group last night
Put kiddo to bed, took shower, then went to bed

More to come soon....

Synopsis
Two girls haunted by the past...and destined to relive it
In Legacy of Lies, Megan has to stay with the uptight grandmother she wants nothing to do with. She's determined to get through the visit without any drama, but when she falls into a twisted love triangle with potentially fatal consequences, Megan may be caught up in her family's legacy in more ways than she realizes.
In Don't Tell, Lauren knows that by returning to the town where her mother drowned seven years ago, she'll be reliving one of her most haunting memories. When she arrives, she is propelled into a series of mysterious events that mimic the days leading up to her mother's death. Maybe her mother's drowning wasn't an accident after all...and maybe Lauren is next.

What I liked:
I have read her previous book Kissed by An Angel which was amazing, so I figured to give this book a read. Well I liked it greatly because it was like trying to find out what happened..to the past and then now. Both stories are really interesting and just wanted to find out more about it. At first I didn't realize it was two separate stories, until I re-read the back cover! Very nicely done!

COVER RATING: 8/10 (I do like blue!)

WHOLE THING: 8/10

SYNOPSIS: Kaitlyn Fairchild has always felt like an outsider in her small hometown. Her haunting eyes and prophetic drawings have earned her a reputation as a witch. But Kait’s not a witch: She’s a psychic. Tired of being shunned, Kait accepts an invitation to attend the Zetes Institute, where she can have a fresh start and study with other psychic teens. Learning to hone her abilities with four other gifted students, Kait discovers the intensity of her power — and the joy of having true friends. But those friendships quickly become complicated when Kait finds herself torn between two irresistible guys. Rob is kind and athletic, and heals people with his good energy. Gabriel is aggressive and mysterious, a telepath concealing his true nature as a psychic vampire, feeding off of others’ life energy. Together, Rob and Gabriel’s opposing forces threaten the group’s stability. Then one of the experiments traps the five teens in a psychic link. A link that threatens their sanity and their lives. And Kaitlyn must decide whom to trust…and whom to love.

WHAT I THOUGHT : I have read the Vampire Diaries and the Secret Circle of LJ Smith back in the early 1990’s, so I gave this book a go! The cover caught my eye….the plot was interesting..a little long but the main character Kaitlyn was an interesting read. I could actually have the whole story going in my mind as I read it which was fun to do. It was interesting to see what abilities were mentioned in this story as well. To me there was a good vs evil type of thing going on in the book as well.

Cover Rating: 8/10
Story line: 8.5/10
Whole thing: 8/10
Stay tuned what book I will read next
