New book done

Such a good book! Couldn't put it down and want to read the next one.

The Book About:
When Emma Vaile's parents leave on mysterious business trip, it gives her the perfect excuse to be a rebellious teen. Throw some parties, get a tattoo (or maybe just a piercing), and enjoy the first few weeks of her junior year. Then her best friend stops talking to her, the cops crash her party, and Emma finds herself in the hands of a new guardian—her college-age "knight in J.Crew armor," Bennett Stern—and on a plane to his museum-like mansion in New England.
After enrolling at Thatcher Academy, Emma settles in by making friends with the popular legacy crowd. But she can't shake the strange visions that are haunting her. She has memories of Thatcher she can't explain, as if she's returning home to a place she's never been. Emma doesn't trust anyone anymore—except maybe Bennett. But he's about to reveal a ghostly secret to Emma. One that will explain the visions . . . and make Emma fear for her life.

Daphne Van Helsing has been raised, educated, and given extensive training in the family business—vampire hunting. Some might think staking and decapitating vamps for cash is the ultimate job but not for this 16-year-old. All she wants is to settle down, attend high school, have friends, meet guys, and go to prom. Instead she is forced to travel from job to job in a beat-up van, living in cheap motels, eating fast food, and spending all her time with her parents. Now the Van Helsings and their arch rivals, the Harkers, are sent to Maine. Not only is Bristol overrun with vamps that are stronger and more difficult to kill but a terrifying evil is also preying on children and wreaking havoc on the inhabitants of the town. It is up to Daphne; her new BFF, Kiki Crusher; and handsome, crush-worthy Tyler Harker to discover the dark forces' source of power and destroy it. Marrone delivers an action-packed thriller that is full of suspense, intrigue, drama, and romance. Daphne's witty first-person narrative makes this story come alive. As her character grows, readers will identify with her personal struggles as she is torn between family obligations and her own needs and desires.

Secret Life of Sparrow Delaney

Well I finished this book finally. Been a tad busy with the family and sleeping. How I got this book was that I was browsing on Barnes and Nobles website one day in the discounted area and found it. The synopsis looked good and the cover caught my eye! I’m always a sucker for awesome covers first and then I read what the book is about then decide whether or not I want to read it! I liked how the book concentrated on Sparrow who has sisters and deals with the fact that her family is a bit different and that herself is unique too. Nice fun read..I’d give the book 4 out of 5 stars. Check it out today if this book fits your criteria in reading!

Synopsis

How do you ignore a ghost?

Sparrow Delaney absolutely, positively does not want to be a medium like her six older sisters, her mother, and her grandmother. She does not want to see, hear, smell, or talk to ghosts. If she sticks to her rules and doesn’t let anyone know that she can do all those things—everywhere, all the time—Sparrow just might pass as a normal tenth grader at her new high school. She makes a new best friend and meets an irritatingly appealing guy in her history class. But when another boy catches her eye, all Sparrow’s dreams of being ordinary go up in smoke. Becausethis boy is a dead one—a persistent, charming, infuriating ghost, who won’t let her be until she agrees to help him Move On.

I could not put this book down. It caught my attention from the get go.. Read it in a day and half considering I'm a full time mom and had time to read it! The cover caught my attention when I was browsing in the bookstore. I love the characters Jessie and Pietr along with a few of Pietr's siblings. Very good story if you are into high school, drama, life, love and supernatural element!

There is suppose to be a sequel that comes out in February and it is so on my list to read!

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Immortals comes a new middle-grade series featuring Ever’s younger sister, Riley.

It was a quick read and very interesting to read about. I'm looking forward to the 2nd book. I liked the character Riley and her dog Buttercup..along with Riley's guide too. Very different scenery and twist on things of what Riley sees and hears and what she goes through. The 2nd book looks good!

ABOUT:
It’s an accessible if shallow style, and the love-after-death theme has popular appeal. High school senior Phoenix, knifed to death in a street fight, returns as a zombie, and his grieving girlfriend, Darina, is a hidden witness to his resurrection. Defying the eerie zombie master, Hunter, Darina claims Phoenix, risking mind erasure or worse. The zombies have a goal—to solve the mysteries surrounding their deaths—and Darina offers to “play detective” for them. Hunter accepts, on the condition that Darina focus on Jonas, one of four newly undead “revenants” from Darina’s high school. From there, the story becomes a series of emotional confrontations, sweet interludes between the lovers, and adrenaline-surging moments of physical threat.

FALLEN by Lauren Kate
There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Great book...lots of pages but keeps you on your toes on wanting to know what will happen next. There's suppose to be a sequel this coming fall! Can't wait!

More books that I've read!

If I Stay by Gayle Forman

A critically acclaimed novel that will change the way you look at life, love, and family. In the blink of an eye everything changes. Seventeen-year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall what happened afterwards, watching her own damaged body being taken from the wreck. Little by little she struggles to put together the pieces- to figure out what she has lost, what she has left, and the very difficult choice she must make.

Great book..read it one day (today) and it was a heartwarming book! Got this book from the library too. :)

I never Fancied Him Anyways by Claudia Carroll

Cassandra can see the future with 100% accuracy . . . for everybody except herself. Ever since Cassandra was a little girl, she's had a remarkable psychic gift. Now a successful columnist for a weekly magazine, she predicts the future with uncanny precision. And thanks to her stunning co-worker Charlene—and the latest love of Charlene's life, hot television producer Jack—Cassandra's moving up . . . to daytime TV! The trouble is, whenever Jack's around, the hapless seer's second sight goes dim—something that always seems to happen when a desirable single male is around. But despite a truly abysmal dating record, she believes Jack is the one for her . . . though Charlene might strongly disagree. Is true love or outrageous catastrophe right around the corner? Cassandra doesn't have a clue. But it seems even being able to foretell the future can't protect her from what destiny has in store . . . and sometimes fate won't allow you to look before you love.

This book was a good read. I could not put it down! I own this book.

On that note: Watched Castle last night on abc channel and it was awesome! It was great to Alyssa Milano on tv and acting. Castle is one of my favorite shows! I may watch that episode again on hulu.com

Books that I"ve Read in the past few days

Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

My Soul to Save by Rachel Vincent (book 2)

Six weeks after Kaylee discovers her true identity, she and her boyfriend, Nash, attend a rock concert of a mega-star. Thanks to Tod, they're able to score backstage passes.
While watching the performance from the wings, they view the lead singer collapse on stage. When Kaylee doesn't start singing, she believes the singer will survive.
She is wrong. The singer dies without a soul.

Both books were awesome reads! Cannot wait to see book 3 of Rachel Vincent and to read new ones as well from my long list of books that I have in mind!
